ABOUT OUR FARM
We are a family-owned business. Rick, our 2 sons Dennis and Kevin, and myself, Nellie.
We purchased our farm in 2002 to grow tobacco. There were also two small parcels of land on which we decided to grow strawberries.
Our first harvest of strawberries was in 2004 which was half an acre.
Over the years our business has grown to 1 1/2 acres of
raspberries, 6 acres of field strawberries, and in 2022 we added 2 acres of blueberries.
In 2019 we installed a European tabletop strawberry system. This system allows us to have strawberries available from mid-May until October.
We have added sweet corn and also grow a variety of veggies in our garden.
Our family has since grown with Kevin getting married to Erin. They have twin daughters; Ellie and Ava.
Our workforce consists of 8 Jamaicans and a number of local employees.
In 2022 Dennis purchased a farm and has ventured into growing potatoes to add to our produce.
To prevent waste, we freeze extra berries and sell them throughout the year.
We enjoy selling our products to grocery stores and to our other customers who come to the farm.
